Why "Category Average" trust is a fatal business choice.

Updated: 4 minutes ago

Price, performance, and reliability are just the ticket to play.

So why is it that the biggest players in almost every category are all stuck at the same average trust scores?

It comes down to two things: Perception and Perspective.

1. The "Logic" Gap

If you aren't more trusted than the field, you don't have a trust advantage. Effectively, you have given your audience no logical reason to trust and choose you over the others. You are a commodity.

In many categories, all players have very similar trust levels.

2. The "Driver" Delusion

We hear it all the time: "We already know our trust drivers". Then, the executive rattles off the most obvious, basic factors. If that’s how you’re conducting your NPS or reputation analysis, it’s no wonder you’re hitting a wall.

Change the perspective from "Need" to "Love"

Outsized performance starts where category average ends. It requires a fundamental shift:

  • From the baseline: What they "need to trust for" (You only have a Ticket to Play).

  • To the powerful: What they would "love to trust for" (You are the Only Logical Choice).

Want to discuss what the 'love to trust fors' could be for you?

They open an entirely new world for your audience and your performance. Price, performance, and reliability are just the ticket to play.
